Launched May 2011, Chelleline Voyages features unique travel postcards by Dmitry (Mitya) Guimon. Mitya's ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary makes his work a true alternative to the traditional travel postcards. From a mirrored reflection of the Manhattan Bridge to a close-up of a firefly in Amish country, Voyages appeals to those who long for something familiar and different.
Voyages is currently available online and at the Stewart/Stand Design Store (141A Front Street, Brooklyn, NY), Lion in the Sun (232 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY), St. Mark's Bookshop (31 3rd Avenue, New York, NY), Papeterie Casse-Noisette (445 St. Sulpice, Montreal, QC), The McCord Museum Boutique (690 Sherbrooke St West, Montreal, QC), Boutique of the Contemporary Art Museum of Montreal (185 rue Ste-Catherine Ouest, Montreal, QC), Drawn and Quarterly Bookstore (211 Bernard Ouest, Montreal, QC), Tah-Dah! (156 rue Jean-Talon Est, Montreal, QC), Librairie Gourmande (Jean Talon Market), La Petite Prune Bed and Breakfast (3422 Ave Laval, Montreal, QC), and Librairie Zone Libre (262 Ste-Catherine Est).
About the photographer. A native of Moscow, Russia, Mitya's interest in photography started when he was a child, with a small 16mm spy camera. As he grew older, so did his skill and collection of cameras. His work has been featured in BBC Russia, The China Star, and Letidor.ru. You can see a full portfolio of his work on Flickr. Mitya and Michelle also launched Colors of Montreal in December 2012, a photoblog about life in Montreal.
